FIRST CLASS

FIRST CLASS !!! not talking about our condition here , but we actually took the first class of 'ROBOTIX UNITED' in our college .

R.U is new and fresh version of the 'robotics club' and this time its under BVP-IEEE and we are its 'Technical Heads' ..

THE FIRST CLASS (C-301 , 5:15 PM , 21st Oct 2010)

students had already been informed about the venue and the timings via email , sms channel , posters etc . they were told to assemble near the library . we were thr first ones to reach there and we waited there till 5:15 and about 30 students came . seriously telling we were shocked to see so many girls in 'robotics' because 'generally' its more of the guys who are into robotics BUT it was a 'pleasure' having good number of girls ;-) :-p .

we took the 'kids' :p to C-301 . the kids settled themselves in the class . our seniors came to brief us and at abt 5:30 we started the class .

we had already prepared a lot the previous day , written everything on pages and secided our parts and we were quite sure that we ll end up taking the first class in a 'first class' manner . BUT !!! As the class began , L had to give the introduction and he 'blanked out' :-O though R saved 'The Start' from drowning (phew !) . Then, freshrz gave their intro .. nd tol their expectatns frm the club .Then we showed them some pix, videos,told them what all we had done so far, the journey of the LR Team to becomin Passionique.

We think the kids were happy aftr the class .. and we too hav gr8 expectatns frm them .. we hope they win all the competitions nd hamara naam uncha karen :p

A trip to Delhi-6

We were planing to meet at 12 in the noon to go to Delhi-6, for exchange of certain parts. Sadly, it was postponed to 12:15, further to 12:30 and then finally got canceled !!! because L was feeling a bit weird (He had been watching prison break , season 3 for 7 straight hours and his eyes were paining and was a bit tired too ). Then R got a msg from L saying that "We are "Passioniques" and we never back out from anything so plan's still onnn" !! :-)

Last night when we slept together, apparently we exchanged our bad habits... Ravit came late and for the first time Lakshay was on time!!! Hehe (Don worry we only changed our habits last night, nothing else :p ).
We met at the Moti nagar metro station and reached Chandni Chowk at 1:34pm, and headed straight towards Lajpat Rai(LR) market shop no. 629 to exchange the expensive ;) sensors ( remember our last post ??? ). The shopkeeper was just toooo irritating chichhad kindz, he kept us waiting for way too long. He exchanged only 2 of the 6 sensors because the connectors(a total useless piece of plastic) of the rest 4 sensors were miss placed by us.

Now from here the real adventure begins !!! From shop no. 629 to 595 to 532 to numerous no of shops in place where even homo-sapiens are stuck like vehicles in the jam. We were getting all kinds of 3 digit numbers from all shopkeepers, all had just 1 single dialogue "Bhaiya yahaan nahi milega *** pe pata kar lau." , and this was really irritating, so we decided to eat our frustration out (we were tired also). So we went to the nearest junk food place, Mcdonald's to grab some burgers, wraps and ofcourse to beat the heat Ice-tea. After being charged up , we went in the search of the connectors again !!!
We found a shop named "Connector Point" and Mr. Umesh Goyal, a real good person & a Lifesaver for us, called it "The connectors library" ! We explained to him our problem and he gave us a quick solution, those useless plastic pieces out of a thousand boxes surrounding us. We again headed to shop no. 629 and to throw the sensors on the chichaad's face !

Almost dead after the whole journey, due to some work we again had to head back to the "Connector Point", both the gr8 minds had jammed, and we din even knew what we were saying. After that moved towards the metro station, havin banta on the way. Wrote this entry in the Metro, went back homes and then lived happily eva after ( That's how happy endings are supposed to be :p :p )

Finally we Pen down today

As planned a few days back, we had to start with the too long awaited work of our linefollower robot , we planned it to call that the "line leader" though.
After many changes from both the sides it was planned that the team will be meetin by 7 in the evening at R's place. At this time (7 pm) the "L" was sleeping and he ended up meeting the "R" at 8:41( exact). As everytime, Ravit rained many questions and Lakshay was ready with a bagful of excuses for each ;-). After wasting some time on fb, firstly, notes were made, actually a list of things to be done, a plan. The list included the checking of IR sensors, a part of the programming, and the creation of the same thing that you guys are reading rite now.
R had told L to get everything, but as usual L forgot a few bits and pieces(the comparator, and a CD).
We had already faced the problems of our new sensors not working, the expensive ones, as we expected them to, or even like anybody in our field would. But work had to be started, so we started checking for the output that the sensors wud give us, and we ended up fooking one more sensor, oh forgot to tell u one has already been fooked a few days back (Don't forget they are Expensive). We realized the mistake we were makin, but still was not workin as we would expect it to. Then we again checked the rest of the sensors but alas still they weren't working... Till now we were damn sure our second sensor is fooked :p . Now to handle this mess we decided to call our senior Anil bhaiya (4th yr, msit) . We had a chat wid him and we decided to take his help at every step (we'll soon be picking up all our mess and goin to his place :p hehe !!! )
Then we started working with the AVR kit we had (Actually we have 2, and we wud love to flaunt that we won one of them as a prize, in the first big competitoin we participated in our college). and it worked but we were still not satisfied .

So at around 12:45 , when we had done all that was in our hand, we finally came to the third point, "THE BLOG". The first thing was to setup an email ID, a very easy task, but the difficult one is the name, ek naam. Coincidentally, after many silly names, we both finally decided to give it no name, yeah u heard it rite our email id is noname.lr@gmail.com. After that the so-called early man started feelin sleepy and took a break at around 12:45, while Lakshay was watchin prison break.
Then we both decided upon taking a small nap, and comin up wid the names after it. At round 1:30, a friend of Lakshay called to wish him Bday, which just passed a few days back. Finally we slept together on the same bed ( we no u guys must be thinking bout silly gay jokes.... Actually we too were thinking bout them :p ). R woke L at around 3:30, apparently a friend of R had called him an hr ago.
Again comes in the "naamkaran" part for the blog url and the title. The title is the same as u guys might know us " The LR team ". Now as per the url was concerned, we wanted it to have all that we have within us Unique, Passion, Innovative, Adrenaline rush and undoubtedly LR. The result was very funny names like Rupali, Paruli, Uplair, etc etc. Though we liked Uplair, but finally agreed upon "Passionique", having all that we have Passion and Unique ideas and Unique ways of working.


Since that time we have been writin all this, with a few Heated conv bout India, going to US, settling there,... In short the "Brain Drain"( Don't worry, we'll include this in another post ), and some hilarious videos on Youtube.
